Shimano Crankset Recall Settlement
What happened
Certain Shimano Hollowtech II road cranksets (Ultegra FC-6800/FC-R8000, Dura-Ace FC-9000/FC-R9100/FC-R9100-P) made before July 2019 can delaminate or separate; Shimano recalled them in September 2023 and a class settlement (final-approved February 2, 2026) adds an extended warranty and reimbursement.
Who qualifies
Anyone in the US who purchased, received, or owned a designated crankset or a bicycle equipped with one (production codes listed on the settlement site), other than solely for resale.
How much you could get
Reimbursement of reasonable documented costs to replace a delaminated/separated crankset (only if replaced before Sept 21, 2023 after the express warranty expired); express warranty on bonding separation/delamination extended automatically to July 29, 2027

Worth knowing
August 4, 2026 deadline applies only to reimbursement for past replacements. If your crankset fails after that but before July 29, 2027, take it to an authorized Shimano retailer for a free inspection/replacement under the extended warranty.
