Google Assistant Privacy Settlement
File your claim on the official site → Takes you to A.B. Data, Ltd. — filing is free.
What happened
A class action alleged Google Assistant recorded users' conversations after "false accept" activations and shared some recordings with third-party reviewers, in violation of privacy laws and Google's policies. Google denies wrongdoing but agreed to a $68 million settlement fund.
Who qualifies
Purchaser class: anyone who bought a Google-made device (Home, Home Mini/Max, Nest Hub/Hub Max, Pixel phones) in the US between May 18, 2016 and March 19, 2026. Privacy class: Google Assistant users (or household members) in that period whose communications were recorded via a False Accept or shared with review vendors.
How much you could get
Points-based pro rata share of the net $68M fund: 4 points per eligible purchased device (max 3 devices), 1 point for Privacy class members; dollar value depends on total claims
Rule of thumb: individual payouts shrink as more people file. Funds first pay attorneys' fees and costs (typically 25–35%), then split the rest among valid claims.
